The Wide View
Took my new wide angle lens out for a spin this afternoon. I've shot landscapes with my 18-55 mm lens, and I didn't think going wider to 10mm would be a dramatic difference.
That was a false assumption. The angle of view was so much wider that I had a difficult time framing shots without having "clutter" on the side, or in the foreground. I had to think about the shot, be a little more deliberate in my approach...

Movie Night
I took this while walking around the historic district of Cheyenne, Wyoming, shortly after dark. The reflection of the movie theatre marquee on the cars parked in front of the theatre caught my eye. I was shooting in "P" mode, and the camera bumped the ISO up to 1,600 so there's some noise in the photo, but I think it captures the moment...

Turnagain Sunset
Sunset on Turnagain Arm, outside of Anchorage. I took this a couple of months after I got my first DSLR, a Nikon D40. I like the reflection of the sky on the mud flats, and it was after I looked at this on my computer monitor that I noticed the reflection of the sun in the clouds as well...
